Igua-Max | The Dead Jedi

Characters:

Yahwah the Gran
Certainly there has never been a more enigmatic and, in many instances, despised Jedi of the final age as Yahwah the Gran.  The stubborn daughter of a Gran bureaucrat, Yahwah has inherited property on many independent and Hutt worlds and travels to them often because she enjoys the different kinds of enlightenment that comes from meditating in different parts of the galaxy.  A Gray Jedi, she does not think highly of the Jedi council and considers them to be a group of meddlers.  She also does not accept the existence of evil intent, and often refers to galactic criminals and even the Sith as simply mischief makers.  This gives her a unique view of the light and dark sides of the force.  She also does not accept the use of Midi-chlorians to measure the potential power of a student, and has worked with Jedi who have an extremely low Midi-chlorian counts.  As a Gran, she herself was considered to have a Midi-chlorian count that was far to low to be a Jedi, yet she has pit her power against many renown Jedi who have walked away with a new respect for the Gran race.

While living in her villa on Makeb, Yahwah has kept a watchful eye on the Hutt Cartell and made many enemies there.  While she is often refereed to as simply Yahwah or Yahwah the Gran, she also been called many other names by her friends and enemies.  She is often called the Noble Jedi in reference to her great wealth.  She has also been called a "Left-Eyed" witch by many of her fellow Gran, and the Cosmic Cow by most of the Huts.  More respectfully, she is known by the children of many world as simply, Gran Gran.  Gran-Gran is often the name she is called by her former Padawan, Igua-Max.

Boodles
Boodles is a Dug that has been a servant to Yahwah's family for years.  He serves Yahwah and respects her as a powerful spiritual leader.  His services are paid for by Yahwah's estate, and he keeps extremely busy even though Yahwah spends most of her time meditating.  He is also very experienced in the Jedi arts even though he is not a Jedi himself.  Often he and Igua-Max spar with light saber and  hand-to-hand which is no easy task since Dugs are basically creatures with four gorilla-strength hands and arms.  Boodles is proficient in many forms of hand-to-hand and even hand-to-hand-to-hand-to-hand combat and has attempted to teach many Dug martial arts to Igua-Max.

Igua-Max
While many Jedi have spent time studying with Yahwah she has had few actual Padawans.  Many of those quit study long before Yahwah finishes their training, and Yahwah rarely considers a student ready.  Igua-Max, an Onderonian orphan, was sent to Yahwah by the council as a difficult case, and he studied with her for almost ten years, and they spent most of that time in meditation.  It was the council that eventually promoted Igua-Max and readied him for combat.  Igua-Max possessed strong spiritual power and a Midi-chlorian count that seemed to rise and fall throughout his life.

-The Dead Jedi-
In a battle with slavers on Makeb, Igua-Max's spinal chord was severed in three places.  His paralyzed body was take to Coruscant and placed in a Bacta tank while the council decided what to do with him.  Completely paralyzed, Igua-Max could not even communicate with the outside world.  His brain was trapped in his body.  For two years he floated in sensory deprivation with only mediation to occupy his fragile mind.  During that time, his essence traveled across the galaxy and contacted Yahwah.  Reunited with his old master, Igua-Max entered a new phase of his Jedi training.

After years of floating, Igua-Max used his mind to bypass his damaged nervous system and reanimate his body.  With a motion that looked more like a marionette rather than a man, he released himself from the bacta tank, leaving the Jedi counsel and the planet Coruscant behind him.  He returned to Makeb and sought the help of his old friend Dug.  He fashioned a new black-light saber and donned a death shroud used to dress dead slaves before incineration.  For the years that followed, he rained terror on the slavers on the independent worlds as the flow of slaves ground to an almost complete halt as the legend spread of a dead Jedi who preyed on slave traders.  Just before the battle of Harper's Freighter he befriended a young slave girl named Shmi who could communicate with him telepathically and believed that he was an ancient spirit of the dead.  In  the battle of Harper's Freighter, Igua's mind finally became too week to control his body, and he fell.  Shmi pulled his body to safety, but it was clear that Igua-max was finally dying.  He said goodbye to her, and told her to be brave. When the slavers found them, Shmi was placed back in slavery, and Igua-Max's body was burned.  A few weeks later, Shmi was pregnant.  Yahwah renounced the Jedi order, but claimed to remain in contact with Igua-Max until her eventual death.
